Ed Martin, a 6-4 sophomore, cracked Arizona's tough zone defense with some dazzling gunnery from the corners last night and propelled Stanford to an 82-67 basketball victory over the Wildcats.

Arizona had taken a 57-55 lead on Mike Aboud's short jumper from the side with 9:55 remaining in the game when Martin went to work. He potted four straight baskets to put the Indians ahead to stay and Stanford padded its lead with free throws in the closing minutes as the Cats struggled vainly to get back in the game.
